Afon Gogh - 150 tonne tug

The Afon Gogh is a 150 tonne Tug which needed the following work to be carried out:

1. significant amounts of shell damage
2. plating repair on fuel tanks and water tanks
3. repairs to the stern roller
4. new stern roller fairings
5. new propellers
6. repairs to rudders
7. new sacrificial anodes
8. hull preparation and repainting

This work had to be completed in 14 days to enable the vessel to move to it's next contract, and so all of the trades, and services had to be carefully managed.

Extensive work on the vessel was required...	From plating to a new roller guard...	To replacement propellors and protection...
Finished, painted with the new plating in place...	New props, new sacrificial anodes...	New buffers on the bow, and almost ready for service.

With time being an important factor, the need for planning and coordination was fully understood. By working with companies within the Grimsby Ship Repairers and Engineers Association both the owner and operator could be confident in the standards of any work being carried out.  Harris & Garrod acted as the project manager, bringing all of the necessary trades together to finish the project on time, and within budget.

The work was completed within the deadline, and as such the customer was happy for us to use this repair as an example of the level of service you can expect to receive when you use Grimsby Slipways.
